Our Foundation
We Exist Because Every Life Matters
Hope Animal Foundation was built on a simple belief: no animal should die because their family can't afford an emergency vet bill.
Our Story
Hope Animal Foundation was founded in 2008 after our founder witnessed a heartbreaking situation where a friend's elderly neighbor was forced to euthanize her beloved dog — not because the injury was beyond treatment, but because she simply could not afford the $1,800 needed for emergency surgery.
That experience revealed a painful reality: too many families are forced to make devastating decisions about their pets, not because veterinary care is unavailable, but because it is financially out of reach.
From that moment, Hope Animal Foundation was built on a simple belief: No family should have to say goodbye to a beloved pet simply because they cannot afford lifesaving veterinary care.
Our mission was to create a compassionate, responsive, and straightforward way to bridge the gap between families facing financial hardship and the emergency veterinary care their animals desperately need.
We started with humble beginnings: a handful of generous donors, a shared spreadsheet, and a phone number circulated through local Facebook groups. What began as a small effort to help animals in crisis grew into a mission driven by compassion, community, and the belief that every animal deserves a fighting chance.
Our commitment remains simple: every dollar we raise goes directly toward veterinary care. We operate without paid staff, office space, or administrative overhead beyond the basic cost of maintaining our website.
At Hope Animal Foundation, we believe that financial hardship should never determine whether a beloved family pet lives or dies. Our purpose is to offer hope when families need it most.
Our Mission
"To ensure that financial hardship is never the reason a beloved animal doesn't receive life-saving emergency veterinary care."
